Recently there's a whole lot of free periods in school because many of our teachers are absent. Me, along with some other classmates that I refuse to say out their names (to avoid getting trouble with the school because I know the teachers read our blogs) were talking about some of the hot topics in school. Today I shall be covering the topic on the one highlighted above: Teens leaving home.
We were reading a Chinese Newspaper called Friday Weekly somedays ago and page 5 actually stunned us - Teens leaving home for stupid reasons.
Case 1: [happened on September 2005]
A 13 year old girl left home because her mum told her to wash her own clothes.
Case 2: [happened on August 2005]
2 girls, age 13 year old and 8 year old stay in the carpark for 3 nights. Their reason for leaving home is because they didn't attend church service and they were afraid of getting chided by their parents.
Case 3: [happened on June 2006]
A 16 year old girl was locked at home because of truancy in school. This girl then jumped off from the 2nd floor to escape from home. She hurt her spinal cord from the jump and had an 8 hour operation.
Based on my CDP lessons knowledge (I'm using Social Studies style of writting! yay!), I know that leaving home is not the solution to problems. Children should sit down and discuss with parents of what they can do to improve the situation instead of running away.
Cases like this also question us about communication between children and parents. Perhaps it's because of the lacking in communication that causes children to resort to such methods to get the message across parents. It may also be the bad influences of teenagers nowadays that caused leaving home a trend. However, we have to bear in mind that parents often play a part in cases like this.
Parents nowadays dont seemed to understand the feelings of the teenager. For example in case 3, parent thought that by locking the child in the house can make the child realise their wrong doings, never did they thought that the child will tried to escape through the window. Maybe the parents dont know what caused the daughter to play truant and might have used the wrong method of dealing with her.
Therefore, I urged every parent and child to talk nicely and communicate more to prevent more cases of teen leaving home.

Well well, something happened today. =(
I tried to fry an egg because I was hungry and no one is making dinner for me. Then, I accidentally dropped the oil bottle cap into the wok! DAMN IT. The whole plastic melted and I was stupid enough to pick up the cover using my bare hands. And knowing that oil and water dont agree, I washed the cooking turner and tried to pick up the cap without drying it. The oil almost scalded me. =(
Sissy rushed to the kitchen after I shouted for help and we managed to laugh it off and replace the cap with a covering for containers. Now I'm wondering how my mum is going to fix me later.
I shall continue with my designing later. Cya~
I hate my legs. All the fats are deposited on my calves and thighs.. so I bought myself a slimming cream at Guardian specially to slim down my legs. Yay! I shall see how's the effect. Labels: videos

I'm here to advertise my new skin. It's for a competition.
After 8 months of practicing, 4ward Production finally came to an end. Just imagine all the fun everyone had during the night practices, rehearsals and how we encourage each other before the performance. That moment of time, I could feel team spirit among us. I will miss my role as Yi Lian, and of course my other team members in Netting Friends. Let me just write something about them: Labels: drama

During the brainstorming of what to act last december, we acted as Husband and Wife. When we got our script, I became Jessie. I never know that we can act as couple again. You are considered as the senior of the seniors in Netting Friends. You've got your role as Wei Jun since last december, and I got my role as Yi Lian only this year. I never know that we can have so much chemistry together. Because of 4ward production, you and I are more close than before. And because of that, then I realised that we had so much things in common. It's great to have you as a team mate and I seriously hope that we can have another chance to act together on stage again. You are a good actor, don't let your skills go to waste.
Shi Qi as Qi Qi
I knew you since The Magic Mirror times, but never know you well. Through 4ward Production, I'm sure we have greater bonds than before. Qi Qi this character is just like yourself. You don't flare your temper at others (or is it I've never seen before?). I've known you better through this production and still wish to be in the same team as you next time when we act together.
Hazel as Jessie
You've only joined us around April or so, because the person acting as Jessie kept changing. It was me at first, but because one of our seniors stepped down so I got to act as Yi Lian. You are in this group for the shortest period of time but have proven to be a great actress. Under the coaching of HP and YingWuen, you improved greatly on your performance. You are still in secondary 1 and have 3 more years to go. I'm sure during the next three years you will be better than this time. Keep up the good work and strive to greater heights!
Serene/Wenling as Imp
You took over this role only this June. Clearly you joined us at the latest stage and put on tremendous stress on your "Hee Hee, OooohHh, Hmpftt" actions. Seriously speaking, you are alot better than your cousin Wen Chun. Your role is the most difficult of all although you have no lines. Every actions are impromtu and you've done it well for all three shows. I look forward to see you on stage during next year's SYF.

Seriously speaking... if I dont speak more, I think it will affect my performance in Drama cause I will not be able to project my voice out loud. I used to be a trumpet back in Secondary 1. I mean I can shout from one hall end to the other. Now my friends dont seemed to hear me when I called out to them. That's like so saddening.

This guy is SUPER-LY funny la.
Sometimes I hate weekends, because weekends means that I have nothing to do at home and weekends means that I cannot go out due to the extreme laziness factor. So well, I sat infront of the computer to rot as usual. Did many things in the afternoon, and perhaps I shall summarize what I did today here: Labels: misc
1) Bought a new earpiece today (yay! I've changed my earpiece finally.)
2) Discover a not-yet-developed pimple on my face today.
3) Downloaded a couple of Opeth's music/songs and currently addicted to them.
4) Having a tummyache again. Clearly shown that the medicine didnt really work. -.-
5) Rushed out the final draft of the programme booklet design for printing.
6) Made a blogskin and going to do codings when I'm free.
7) Stoned quite awhile because of writer's block for SYDA 2006.
8) Bitched about 2 people with KH. ^^
9) Found out why the competition ended earlier than expected dateline.
10) Added a to-do list at the sidebar.
That's about it I guess.
